Cleaning
Remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. Brush and floss your teeth after every meal before reinserting the aligners. Clean your aligners daily using a soft-bristled toothbrush and mild soap or denture cleaner. Avoid using hot water to clean your aligners as it can deform them. Store your aligners in their protective case when not in use.
Wearing and Removing
Wear your aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours per day to achieve the desired results. Remove your aligners when consuming hot beverages or food to prevent warping. Always use both hands to remove the aligners gently to avoid damaging them. Avoid placing your aligners in napkins or tissues, as they may get thrown away accidentally.
Handling Discomfort
Expect some discomfort or pressure during the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. Use orthodontic wax to relieve any sharp edges or discomfort caused by the aligners rubbing against your gums. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help alleviate any soreness or discomfort.
Regular Check-ups
Attend scheduled appointments with your orthodontist to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments. Inform your orthodontist if you experience any issues with your aligners or if they become damaged. Follow the recommended treatment plan provided by your orthodontist for optimal results.
