Step 1: Prepare Your Hyundai Palisade
Park your Hyundai Palisade on a flat surface and engage the parking brake. Allow the engine to cool down to prevent burns and injuries.
Step 2: Locate the Oil Drain Plug
Consult your Hyundai Palisade owner's manual to find the location of the oil drain plug on the engine.
Step 3: Drain the Old Oil
Position the oil pan beneath the oil drain plug. Using the ratchet set, carefully loosen and remove the oil drain plug to drain the old oil into the pan. Allow the oil to drain completely.
Step 4: Replace the Oil Filter
Locate the oil filter in your Hyundai Palisade's engine compartment. Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Apply a thin layer of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter. Install the new oil filter by hand and tighten it securely.
Step 5: Add New Oil
Insert the oil funnel into the oil fill hole. Pour the recommended amount and type of motor oil into the engine. Check the oil level using the dipstick and add more oil if necessary. Secure the oil fill cap back in place.
Step 6: Check for Leaks
Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check underneath the vehicle for any signs of oil leaks. Inspect the oil drain plug and oil filter for tightness.
