1. Choose a gas station that accepts your fuel card
Before you start using your fuel card, make sure to check which gas stations accept it. Most fuel card providers have a website or mobile app where you can find a list of participating gas stations. Alternatively, you can look for signs or stickers at gas stations indicating that they accept your fuel card. Choosing a gas station that accepts your fuel card will ensure a smooth and hassle-free fueling experience.
2. Insert or swipe your fuel card at the pump
Once you have arrived at a gas station that accepts your fuel card, park your vehicle near the pump and turn off the engine. Locate the card reader on the pump and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. Depending on the type of fuel card, you may need to insert the card into the reader or swipe it. Make sure to insert or swipe the card with the magnetic strip facing the right direction. If prompted, enter any required information such as your PIN or ZIP code.
3. Select your fuel and start pumping
Once your fuel card has been successfully processed, you can proceed to select the type and quantity of fuel you want to purchase. Using the buttons or touchscreen on the pump, select the fuel grade and the desired amount of fuel. If you are unsure which fuel grade is recommended for your vehicle, refer to the manufacturer's guidelines or consult with a gas station attendant. After making your selection, lift the nozzle and insert it into the fuel tank of your vehicle. Once the fuel starts flowing, you can start pumping.
4. Complete the transaction
When you have finished pumping fuel, place the nozzle back on the pump and wait for any remaining fuel to drip into your vehicle's fuel tank. Once the nozzle is back in its place, the transaction will be completed, and you will receive a receipt if you have opted for one. Remember to take your fuel card back from the card reader before leaving the gas station.
